This native Indian metaphor completely outlines my beliefs, as well reiterating what experience has proven time and time again.
You are that on which you feast your mind.
This is not just ‘think positively’ spiel but actual practical, solid and proven advice.
When you focus on the problem or the negative in any situation then you will attract more of that! This happens automatically because your brain is simply doing its job! It is attempting to ‘prove‘ you right. In psychological terms its called Confirmation Bias.
If you say or think things such as ‘She doesn’t like me/ he is out to get me/ I could never do that/ No one will ever love me, etc etc.. then your brain will start to look for as much evidence as it can to prove you right.
Have you ever had this experience? Be honest, I know I have!
You say..‘Oh, she/he doesn’t like me‘ or something of the sort, and you can’t help but keep watching for signs to validate what you just said, so as you can go..‘I told you so!‘.
On the other hand if you say…‘This person is shy/ has a lot going on/ is feeling stressed/ needs my help, etc… then you find that you are looking for these signals in the person.
Have a go at this today!
Look at your partner, family member, friend or business acquaintance with these eyes and notice what is different. Notice all the evidence you can stack up to validate this new found interpretation. Now notice how this is more empowering, fulfilling, rewarding and productive.
One moves you forward to find solutions the other leaves you stuck in a victim mindset and in a place of negativity and pain.
Move forward and look for the solutions…
What wolf will you feed today?
It’s all on the Mind remember 🙂
